My name is Lynda Y. Melendez and I am a 2nd grade monolingual teacher. This year, I will begin my fifth year of teaching. I am proud to say that during my first year of teaching, I was nominated and accepted for inclusion in the 2004-2005 Who's Who Among America's Teachers. I feel very honored to have been accepted.

I graduated from college in 2003 where I obtained a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education (grades pre-k through 4th grade). I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Library Science. I love what I do and I feel blessed to be a part of so many children's lives.

When I am not in the classroom, I love to spend time with my fiance, family, and friends. They are so supportive and mean the world to me. I also enjoy helping my mom with her real estate career, exercising, reading, shopping, and working on my website.

I look forward to working with my new 2nd grade class. I have many plans for a fun-filled learning environment that will allow my students not only to succeed, but also excel. We will be reading lots of new stories, writing our own stories, and learning new spelling words. I am eager to get to know each of my students better, and work with them to make this school year the greatest! I work hard to become partners with my students' parents in order to assist them in their child's learning, growth and development.

I love my job and I look forward to having a very rewarding and successful year with my second grade students.

What Are Blinkies?
Blinkies are small, animated banners, or small, animated images, that includes text sayings and blink. Below are all the blinkies that I have collected while building my website.

Each blinkie says something about who I am... my loves, my interests and my hobbies. Enjoy!
